A 21-year-old Indian student was gunned down by four gunmen, including a man from India, in a supermarket in California, according to a media report.
Dharampreet Singh Jasser was on duty at a store next to a gas station in the city of Fresno, California on Tuesday when four armed robbers, including a man from India, invaded to loot the store, reported the local newspaper Fresnobee.
Jasser Hidden would have behind the cash register but was shot by one of the four thieves when they looted the abandoned gas station after the money and property, according to the report.
The incident was reported to police on Wednesday when a customer who had come to buy things, Yasser’s body found on the floor.
Jasser is from Punjab and was a student in accounting. He went to the United States about three years ago on a student visa.
Police arrested the 22-year-old Athwal, a man of Indian descent, who is considered one of four suspects. He has been charged with murder and theft.
“Dharampreet was completely innocent victim, just working to do when he was killed in this senseless attack,” said Sheriff Jay Varney, Madera County,
The detectives continue to search for other suspects and other information related to this case said the sheriff’s office.
