Kamal Haasan is set to launch his political party in Madurai tomorrow. Kamal Haasan will kickstart his political tour with the launch of his party and its guidelines.
The actor-turned-politician is expected to visit his hometown Ramanathapuram, as well as Madurai, Dindigul and Sivagangai districts during his tour.
Addressing the media at the Chennai airport, Kamal Haasan said, “I’ll take this press meet as a token of welcome. People who are going to join us are coming tomorrow. Political leaders from other parties are also coming to wish me tomorrow, you’ll see them all.”
Kamal Haasan at an earlier time said that the motive of his political party is to challenge the status quo that has been plaguing Tamil Nadu politics.
“Yes I spoke against the Tamil Nadu govt and I can’t speak anything more here, I’ll speak everything tomorrow at Madurai,” Kamal Haasan said.
In a tweet, Kamal Haasan announced that he will be launching his party in Madurai at 6 PM tomorrow.
“Tomorrow is the beginning of our journey. At 6 pm tomorrow we will load our party flag at a grand public meeting at the Madurai ground. I will explain the name of our party and our policy. Welcome to New Age.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is also expected to attend the launch of Kamal Haasan’s party. Kamal Haasan has also invited Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan but their presence hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Kamal Haasan and Arvind Kejriwal have also met in the past. Kamal Haasan said that he will choose ideologies from across parties and inculcate them into his own party as he deems fit.
Recently Kamal Haasan also called upon superstar Rajinikanth, DMK chief M Karunanidhi, MK Stalin and DMDK chief Captain Vijaykanth.
